As digital user experience strategists, designers, and developers, our community includes those who seek elegant solutions to complex problems, intuitive user interfaces, and strong brand presence. However, as a firm established within Washington, DC for over a decade, we also have a soft spot for local, small business like us. 

As thought leaders who care about our community, we try to share, collaborate, educate, and learn with our community, as much as we can, whenever we can.

Teaching Continued Education for Accessibility

LookThink was asked by Multifamily NW to help educate their landlords about web accessibility in their efforts to ensure fair housing for everyone. Alyssa Pine (UI Designer) and Caitlin Abramson (Experience Architect & Front-End Developer) explain what accessibility means in the context of websites, how to test for it, and the importance of maintaining an inclusive, usable experience.

Agile Prototyping Webinar

Partnering with UXPin, LookThink gives a hands-on presentation about what agile prototyping looks like and the benefits of rapid iterations. Within the presentation, Nate Ginesi (Director of Design) explains how to determine the right depth and breadth for MVP prototyping, how to prioritize use cases for prototyping, how to elicit the right stakeholder and user feedback, and how to correctly annotate prototypes for testing and development.

Supporting DC Small Businesses

When the COVID-19 pandemic began affecting local small businesses in 2020, we wanted to do what we could to help them keep going. Partnering up with the DC BID Council and other BIDs across the country, LookThink provided free webinars and resources about how a strong digital presence and good user experience can improve sales and customer engagement.

We also were able to offer a 6-week consultancy series with minority-owned small businesses who applied to the program. Over the course of the year, we helped 24 small businesses expand their brand presence, improve e-commerce or online ordering, and support digital marketing strategies.
