Job Description

We are looking to add a talented UX architect to our team - someone who has experience creating user-centric websites, products, and other digital experiences. The ideal candidate will have spent time working on teams - with both designers and developers. You should be able to make and communicate deliberate UX design and architectural decisions, to translate any given user-experience journey into an intuitive user interface. This is a full time, salaried, Washington, DC-based position with benefits.


  • Summarize findings from user research for client consumption and create actionable plans for your team to execute against based on those findings.

  • Create, improve and use brands, mockups, wireframes, prototypes, style guides, user flows, etc. and effectively communicate your UX vision using any of these methods.

  • Be a great team player. Demonstrate a history of successful collaboration within a team-based setting.

  • Comfort with technology, and an ability to collaborate closely with developers, database architects, system admins, system configurators, etc.

  • Present and defend your decisions. Demonstrate an awareness of (and position on) the relationship between the project roadmap, your own thinking, and fundamental UX principles.

  • Ability to talk to, interact with and educate clients throughout the life of the product or engagement.

  • Continually keep yourself and your design team updated with the latest changes and trends in the world of user experience and user-centered design.

  • Use knowledge of research methodologies to plan, conduct, analyze, and report research to provide guidance for project and product work.

  • Test and validate working hypothesis with users through usability testing of wireframes, clickable prototypes and existing systems.


  • Four or more years of experience and proven track record.

  • Strong examples of digital web/product architecture work to be presented and reviewed during interview.

  • Hands-on experience creating, wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, user flows, user research plans, etc.

  • Experience using prototyping tools such as: UXPin, InVision,, or similar.

  • Ability to generate creative ideas with a problem-solving mindset.

  • Experience presenting to and/or communicating directly with end clients.

  • Comfort/openness to receiving objective criticism and improving upon it.

  • Ability to create and execute user research plans at various stages of the project.

Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with other design and digital tools such as: Sketch, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign.

  • Experience working within a technological development process or methodology (e.g. Agile, Kanban, etc.)

  • Understanding of basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3, Javascript.

  • Comfort using/administering common CMS platforms (e.g. Drupal, WordPress, etc.).

  • Experience with the Salesforce CRM platform.

  • Project leadership experience managing a design and development team.
